Pentax K-S2 20MP Wi-Fi Enabled Weatherized SLR with 50-200mm Lens Kit (Black/Orange)

ve been very pleased with the over-all performance and image quality of this camera. While I desire a little better sharpness out of the stock 18-50mm lens, it still takes some fantastic photos, which shows just how good it can get with even better lenses. [Edit: adjusting the sharpness in the custom image settings does make a sizable difference]. Now, I haven't put the camera through all types of shooting scenarios, as I usually use it for taking photos of musical instruments at work, but I have tried to experiment a bit to put it through its paces. I've found that it does a great job, even when relying on a lot of "auto" settings. I will say that its auto is much more accurate, especially in regards to white-balance and exposure, than others I've used. Low light performance is good and the color reproduction is also quite good (when you don't have any of the special color filters on). Noise levels are good and even when using a higher ISO, the noise is not the real ugly kind. There is a built in noise-reduction, but the level can be altered. Lowering that helps retain details when shooing at real high ISO. The inclusion of the AF-lamp certainly aids in speedy focusing in low-light conditions. Just about all of the modes I've used, work well and have great control. I use manual more than anything, but the other modes have their place too - especially if you don't have the time to figure out each shot in manual mode. The built-in shake reduction does it's job well. The camera is an AA-filter-less design, but it can simulate an AA filter if you desire it to. The shots looks great both ways, but obviously the normal non-AA way yields a crisper shot over-all, but of course there may be instances where you'd rather have an AA-filter, so the option is there (you can also have the camera do bracketed shots of with and without at varying degrees of the effect).
